Leadership Training: Lesson 11
The difference between a successful person and a failure is rarely a difference in intelligence, talent, experience, or family background. The difference is that the successful person is the one who refused to give up.
The typical successful person has failed many more times than the worst failures have. But what the successful person had that made them different was persistence or stick-to-it-tiveness. They never gave up. There are no failures in this business, there are only winners, and quitters.

A nutrition business is not a "get-rich-quick" business. Steady persistent effort is what it takes to succeed. You will probably have setbacks. There will probably be times when you will become discouraged and feel like quitting. That's OK. We have all been there. The important thing is that you pick yourself up and keep goingNever, never, never give up!
All salespeople know that they will hear "no" more often than "yes." In fact, most people in sales can expect to hear nine "no's" for every "yes". (Fortunately for us our odds are a lot better!) Some people get discouraged after the first or second "no" and give up. Just remember that each "no" moves you one step closer to the next "yes". Remember the old saying, "Some will, some won't, so what?" Move on to the next person: "Next!" There are plenty of people who desperately need and want your help.
When you become discouraged, talk it over with someone. The NSP Forum (http://www.nspforum.com) is a great place to do that! Or contact your upline manager. This is a people-helping-people business. Don't try to do it all on your own. That's one reason why it is important to attend meetings and seminars whenever you get the chance. We are all pulling for you!
It is very important to realize that, in this type of business, you will probably work harder initially than the financial rewards will justify. However, you are laying a solid foundation and planting seeds that will eventually bring forth abundant fruit. After a while, usually after a few years of consistent effort, you will find yourself receiving rewards far greater than you thought possible given the amount of work you are putting into your business. Consider your time and effort now as an investment that will pay dividends in the future. You can work for someone else and secure their future, or you can work for yourself and secure your own. The choice is yours.
