Leadership Training: Lesson 38
Newsletters and eZines
Continuing our discussion of the various ways to build an NSP business, in this lesson we will focus on Newsletters and eZines (or webzines.)
You can send your newsletters by conventional snail mail, or by email. With the high cost of postage, printing and paper, email newsletters make a lot of sense, since you can send a million of them for about the same that it would cost you to send just one. Some of your customers and members, however, might not use email, and for those you might want to send your newsletter by snail mail.
If you are not into writing your own, the Tree of Light Institute sells an excellent newsletter that is designed just for Nature's Sunshine Distributors. It is called "Sunshine Sharing" and you can order it from their web site at: http://www.treelite.com/
If you need the snail mail addresses or email addresses of your successline you can get them from Nature's Sunshine's official web site. Look under "Members>Reports and Tools."
Because of the much lower cost, I prefer to send my newsletters by email. When I find a member listed in my successline who does not have an email address listed with NSP, I will either give them a telephone call or send them a letter. I welcome them to NSP, explain that I am their upline manager and that I am available to answer their product questions and to provide support. I tell them that I send out emails to my members and customers from time to time and ask if I can have their email address to add to my list.
If you write your own newsletters you can make your past newsletter articles available online at your personal web site and in this way over time build the content your site. If you mention specific products in your newsletters and web pages you can link them to the appropriate pages at your MyNSP.com web site. (Send your email newsletters in html format in order to include clickable links.) For example, the following link goes directly to the product page on my distributor web site for Fat Grabbers:
Here is how it is done: The stock number for Fat Grabbers is 3035-9. To make the link you add the stock number after the = sign in the above web address, dropping the dash and the check digit. (You will also want to substitute your MyNSP.com user ID for "weed" which is my user ID.) Make sure that you check all of your links to insure that they work correctly.
If you will edit your newsletters to put them in a form that would be of a general interest, you will find that there are other sites online who would love to reproduce your articles on their web site. They will give you credit for the article and provide a hyperlink at the bottom of your article that links the reader back to your web site. This is a great way to increase traffic to your web site. In this way your newsletter articles can continue working for you for years to come.
One great site that has published some of my articles is SelfGrowth.com. They are always looking for well-written articles dealing with a health topic. You can submit your articles to SelfGrowth.com by visiting their web site at: http://www.selfgrowth.com/submit-article.html
Another great place that will consider reprinting your health-related articles on their web site is http://www.omplace.com/. Submit your articles to Omplace.com by emailing them to the editor at firstname.lastname@example.org. There are many other sites that you can submit your articles to as well.
In Lesson 30 of this series I sent you an article on "Writing a Winning Email Newsletter." There were some very good points mentioned in that article so if you are interested in writing your own email newsletters this would be a great time to review that lesson.
Wishing You the Best in Health and Prosperity!

To sign up as an Nature's Sunshine member or distributor: Click Here to Start Shopping» Signing up is easy. All you have to do is order $40 worth of Nature's Sunshine products at member prices and request the membership option at checkout. Get a FREE one-year membership ($40 value) and FREE shipping on your second order when you purchase at least $40 (at direct cost) in products directly from NSP.
