Know Your Compensation Plan
For the new member, understanding Nature's Sunshine's compensation plan may seem a little daunting at first. The plan has evolved over a 35 year period and is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate the needs of all members and distributors, regardless of how they wish to conduct their NSP businesses. Rather than try to memorize the entire plan, I recommend that at this point you simply read over it and understand it. Through the course of time, as you work with it, you will learn all the details. For now be satisfied with an overview.
Nature's Sunshine actually has two compensation plans: the Classic Plan and the Legacy Plan. The Classic plan has been in effect for many years. The Legacy Plan is relatively new. New members have a choice as to which plan they will be assigned. But since new members are not usually familiar enough with the plans to make an informed decision, they are normally automatically assigned to the newer Legacy Plan. Each member is allowed to make one plan change. So if you are not happy with the plan you are assigned to, you may request a change.
I am not going to go into the details of the two plans here, because they can be found on Nature's Sunshine's official site. For an overview, first log onto the site using your account number and PIN. Then, on the menu bar at the top of the page, go to Opportunity > Opportunity Overview. Or you can simply use the following shortcut: http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/opportunity/index.aspx On that page, also click on "Legacy" and then on "Classic" to read more about the two different plans.
For a complete description of NSP's compensation plans go to NSP's official site. First log onto the site using your account number and PIN. Then, go to documents or simply use the following shortcut: http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/members/content2/documents.aspx and then click on "Compensation Plan Documents."
It is important that you take the time to read these documents. That is an essential part of knowing your company, and knowing your compensation plan.
If you signed up recently you are probably in the Legacy Plan. If you signed up years ago you are probably in the Classic Plan. If you are not sure, you can call Customer Services at 800-223-8225 to find out which plan you are assigned, or you can find out on the web site by looking at your Downline Report. On the menu bar at the top of NSP's web site (you must log in first) go to Members > Downline Reports and click on the button "View your group report." Then, on your report, look beside your name and you will see a "C" for "Classic" or and "L" for "Legacy."
You can also choose which plan your new sign ups are assigned to by default. If you have never changed the default, all of your new sign ups will automatically be assigned to the Legacy Plan. After studying the plans, if you decide that you would rather have your new sign ups assigned to the Classic Plan by default, all you have to do is call NSP's Customer Services and they can change your default.
When deciding which plan is best for you, the most important things to remember are the following:
If you are not sure which plan you should choose, don't worry about it for now. Both plans are good and I'm sure that you will do well with either one. But as you build your successline and become more familiar with the details of your compensation plan, you may at some time in the future develop a preference for one plan or the other. At that time you can change your plan (but remember that you are allowed to make one change.) If you like you can also change the default to which your new sign ups are automatically assigned. (Although any sign up can request his or her plan regardless of the default.)
