Leadership Training: Lesson 41
Trade Shows, Events, Expositions and Fairs
Continuing our discussion of the various ways to build an NSP business, in this lesson we will focus on:
Trade Shows, Events, Expositions, Fairs, Etc.
These events are usually held on a Saturday. Most are one day events but some last two or three days. To participate you rent booth space where you will display your products and flyers. When people stop by your booth you can tell them about your products and business opportunity and give them appropriate flyers, brochures, business cards, etc. Your table and chair will probably be provided but you will need to bring an attractive cover for your table and an attention-getting sign or poster. If you do a lot of events you will want to purchase a nice banner from NSP with the NSP distributor logo on it.
Usually you will want to select events that have something to do with health, fitness or natural and environmentally-friendly products. Events that focus on business opportunities, such as the "Working Woman's Survival Show," are also great places to contact people who are looking for a home business opportunity.
On "Earth Day" (April 22) many communities have an event that attracts people who are interested in natural products like ours. (Yes, NSP's products are all-natural and organically-grown.) Sometimes large natural foods stores sponsor these events.
You will be passing out hundreds of flyers, so rather than passing out expensive full-color brochures, I recommend that you hand out simple flyers that you can reproduce on a copy machine. You will greatly maximize your results if you include a coupon on your flyer offering a special discount with an expiration date on it! This coupon is critical to your success so don't neglect this important detail!
You should also have a sign up sheet to collect email addresses. Then you can follow up with people by email. This follow up is very important because the people who you talk to will talk to hundreds of others as well and will pick up a bag full of brochures and flyers - most of which they will never read. (The ones that they will keep will be the ones that have money-saving coupons.) So when you follow up by email, be sure to repeat your special offer and remind them of the expiration date.
Wishing You the Best in Health and Prosperity!
